  Arched upwards in the lower part and becoming erect in the upper part; in cycads, used to describe the natural orientation of the most recent crown or flush of leaves (e.g. as in Encephalatos heenanii) or the exposed tip of microsporophylls (e.g. as in Cycas wadei).
